Roses need special care to be able to enjoy their beauty to the fullest. The following steps will allow you to enjoy the beauty of your roses.
1. Roses need to be kept in a vase full of water at all times. Make sure single roses have water tubes when given and that they are placed in a vase shortly after. 2. Roses should be placed in warm water equivalent to that of bath water (100°F to 110°F). Warm water can be absorbed by the flower with greater ease than cold water, allowing the water and nutrients to travel up to the bloom as quickly as possible. 3. Be sure to mix in the flower food that was included with your Beneva Flowers. This is to ensure the flowers get the proper nutrients they need. 4. Try to avoid bacteria by removing any greens or foliage that may fall into the vase. Foliage not attached to a stem and in the water causes bacteria to grow which will shorten the vase life of the flower. 5. If you received a single rose or wrapped bouquet then Beneva Flowers has placed water tubes on your stems. When placing in a vase you will need to cut the stems at the bottom. You should only cut roughly an inch off at a slight angle. Cutting on the angle maximizes the amount of water being absorbed. This should be done under running water to ensure no air bubbles in the stems. Once completed place in water immediately. 6. These steps should be repeated every 3 days. Make sure you always clean out the vase before refilling. After doing so it will be safe to refill the vase with warm water and flower food. Then simply cut your stems an inch under water; and place back in the vase. You should also check the vase daily for any maintenance that may be needed. Daily Care 1. Roses should be displayed in a cool place away from direct sunlight and drafts of air. Sources of direct heat or cool will damage your flowers. 2. Gently remove discolored or drooping petals from the rose buds to prolong the "new" appearance of your roses. 3. Be sure to keep your Roses away from any ripening fruit. The fruit gives off an ethylene gas that will shorten the life of the roses. 4. If you have done all these steps and still have a rose wilt do not panic. They can be revived. You will need to submerge the entire rose under water. In about 30 minutes to an hour, the rose will have absorbed enough water to become replenished. Before putting it back into the vase, remember to cut off one inch of the stem under water. |
